Matvey Safonov delivered an impressive performance against Brest over the weekend, showcasing his skills at a critical moment as doubts about his status grew. This match was particularly pivotal for Paris Saint-Germain, who were in dire need of their first league win of the season.

The match kicked off with Ferran Torres scoring early for PSG, but the team soon faced numerous chances from Brest. Safonov rose to the occasion, making several remarkable saves, including a spectacular full-stretch effort to deny a powerful header.

Key highlights from the game include:

• Matvey Safonov's standout saves that helped secure the win.
• PSG managing to hold on to their lead despite pressure from Brest.

This performance might ease the scrutiny surrounding Safonov for the time being, but speculation about his future remains. If he maintains this form, he could silence critics for the entire season and potentially spark interest in the upcoming transfer window.
