Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) received two significant pieces of bad news, affecting their upcoming match and player availability.

Firstly, PSG’s match against Rennes this weekend will now take place at Roazhon Park, Rennes' home ground, due to the poor condition of the pitch at Parc des Princes. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) announced, "We were informed on August 17th by Paris Saint-Germain of the condition of the Parc des Princes pitch." Following a thorough examination on August 19th, the LFP concluded that the pitch's state compromised player safety.

In addition to the venue change, PSG also announced that they will not appeal the red card received by Nuno Mendes during the match against Lens in the Trophee des Champions. Consequently, Mendes will serve a three-game ban in Ligue 1.
