Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has opted to rest their captain, Marquinhos, as they prepare to face Strasbourg in Ligue 1. This decision reflects manager Luis Enrique's ongoing rotation strategy aimed at maintaining player freshness as the season progresses.

The traveling squad for the match includes the usual lineup, but the notable absence of Marquinhos stands out. His rest comes following last week's decision to leave out Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes, which paid off as they were ready for a crucial midweek clash against Manchester City.

Despite Strasbourg being a formidable opponent, particularly at the Meinau, PSG remains confident in their ability to perform without their defensive stalwart.

Key points include:

• Marquinhos, at 32, is a crucial figure for PSG but is being managed carefully for future sustainability.
• Pacho is expected to step in, potentially joined by Ilya Zabarnyi, who is under pressure to improve after a challenging debut season.
• Lucas Hernandez may also play centrally, providing additional tactical flexibility.

In other updates, Maghnes Akliouche is not slated to start, but his manager has expressed satisfaction with his development.
