Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Miguel Gutiérrez, the Bayer Leverkusen defender, as they monitor his development closely. According to Fussball News, the club may look to make a move for the 25-year-old in the near future.

United have been linked with several left-backs recently, indicating a desire to enhance their defensive options. With Luke Shaw nearing the end of his career, finding a suitable replacement is becoming increasingly urgent. Gutiérrez, who could be a valuable acquisition, fits the bill.

On the other hand, Real Madrid, where Gutiérrez developed his skills, is also keeping an eye on the defender. It wouldn’t be surprising if they decided to pursue him as well. Gutiérrez made a switch to Bayer Leverkusen from Napoli last summer for €26 million, and the German club is under no pressure to sell.

• Manchester United may need to present an exceptional offer to secure Gutiérrez.
• The club possesses the financial resources to pay a premium, which could influence the deal.
• They aim to build a squad capable of competing for major trophies, addressing weaknesses in their defense.

Playing in the Premier League with Manchester United would be an exciting opportunity for Gutiérrez, representing a significant step up in his career. Regular football in England could facilitate his further development and help him reach his full potential. Currently, he is contracted with Bayer Leverkusen until 2031, and his estimated transfer fee could be around €60 million.
