Arsenal has reportedly initiated contact with Christian Kofane, the promising Bayer Leverkusen striker, signaling a potential long-term addition to Mikel Arteta’s attacking lineup. The 20-year-old has quickly gained recognition in the Bundesliga and is now on the radar of multiple Premier League clubs.

Manchester United has also expressed interest, joining a list that includes Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Everton, all of whom attempted to secure Kofane during the summer transfer window.

This pursuit comes at a pivotal time for Arsenal, especially considering Viktor Gyökeres' diminished role this season, reinforcing the club's desire for younger attacking talent.

According to Sport BILD, Arsenal has been in discussions with Kofane’s representatives since spring, while Manchester United has recently started their inquiry. Kofane previously turned down offers from Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Everton in August, opting to stay at Leverkusen.

His current contract runs until 2029, with Leverkusen aiming to extend it to 2031. However, negotiations have stalled due to Kofane seeking better terms, complicating the situation further.

In his debut season, Kofane netted seven goals and provided nine assists, and he has already added more goals this season. His exceptional performance has been acknowledged by teammates, with Álex Grimaldo lauding his “ice-cold precision” after a standout Champions League match.

Kofane is recognized for his physical strength and ball-holding ability, making him an intriguing prospect for Arsenal. Although he may not arrive as an immediate starter, his potential for growth aligns with the Gunners' strategy.

However, the challenge remains in negotiating a fair price, as Leverkusen is under no pressure to sell, especially with rising interest from Manchester United potentially inflating costs. If Arsenal views Kofane as a key future player, early engagement might be crucial.
