The Open Internacional de Sants - Ciutat de Barcelona 2026 has concluded, marking a historic event with nearly 800 participants. This year's tournament reaffirmed its status as a premier international chess competition, embracing diverse cultures and solidifying its position as the second most important chess tournament in Europe.

Grandmaster Jules Moussard from France emerged as the absolute champion, showcasing exceptional skill throughout the ten-day event. The final standings included:

• Second Place: Sauat Nurgaliyev with 8.5 points and a Grandmaster norm.
• Third Place: Javier Habans.
• Fourth Place: Atilla Kuru.

In the women's classification, Grandmaster Irina Krush finished 14th overall with 7.5 points. Notably, in Group A, GM Daniel Alsina and Isaura San Juan secured the trophies for the best Catalan male and female competitors, respectively.

Other highlights from the tournament included:

• Group B Champion: Jhoan Sebastian Ortiz with 8.5 points and Sarah Casimir as the top female participant.
