Liverpool's pursuit of Yankuba Minteh has hit a snag as their £50m bid for the Brighton winger was rejected. The 22-year-old Gambia international has made a notable impact at Brighton, netting 10 goals and providing nine assists across 73 appearances.

Minteh, who transitioned to Brighton from Newcastle for £30m in 2024, primarily operates on the right wing. Currently, he is in recovery from a leg injury sustained during a friendly against Roma earlier this month.

With the departure of Mohamed Salah, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is keen to bolster his wide attacking options before the transfer window closes. The club is actively exploring various alternatives to enhance their squad.

Earlier this summer, Liverpool secured Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34m, adding depth to their attacking lineup. Despite the setback with Minteh, the club remains focused on acquiring talent, with Paris St-Germain's Bradley Barcola also on their radar. However, negotiations for Barcola are currently stalled due to significant differences in valuation, even as the 23-year-old France winger expresses interest in a move to Anfield.
