Victor Mesa Jr hit a pivotal two-run homer off Max Fried in the sixth inning, leading the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Wednesday night. This win completed a three-game sweep in the American League Division Series, marking the Rays' first advancement to the American League Championship Series since 2020.

Following Mesa's homer, a controversial fan interference call impacted the game significantly. Anthony Volpe appeared to hit a two-run shot, but a video review ruled the ball would not have cleared the wall, awarding him an RBI double instead. Key moments included:

• Ryan Vilade also homered for the Rays.
• The Yankees struggled without captain Aaron Judge, who missed the postseason due to injuries.
• New York ended their season with a 17-year championship drought, equaling their longest since 1923.

In contrast, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their National League Division Series by defeating the Atlanta Braves 4-1. Andy Pages delivered a crucial bases-loaded single in the seventh inning, contributing to the Dodgers’ advancement to the National League Championship Series.

Max Muncy extended his postseason record with a solo homer in the ninth. The Dodgers, now seeking a third consecutive World Series title, showcased strong pitching, allowing only three hits throughout the game.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Guardians avoided elimination against the Chicago White Sox, with José Ramírez leading the way in a 9-3 victory, showcasing his skills after a recent slump. Ramírez’s performance included two hits, two RBIs, and critical defensive plays.

Lastly, the Milwaukee Brewers advanced to the National League Championship Series with a 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres, thanks to Garrett Mitchell's pivotal plays, including a key triple and a crucial catch in the eighth inning. The Brewers’ pitching staff excelled, combining for a strong performance as they secured their place in the NLCS.
