RB Leipzig has turned down an £85.4m bid from Real Madrid for winger Yan Diomande, as reported by Sky Germany. The offer included an initial payment of £76.9m, with an additional £8.5m in potential add-ons.

This transfer window has seen Madrid actively pursuing top talent following the return of Jose Mourinho, having already secured players like Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Marc Cucurella.

Liverpool has also shown interest in Diomande but is hesitant to exceed £85m. This amount would break the current Premier League record for a teenager, which stands at £58.9m following Manchester United's agreement to sign Leny Yoro from Lille in the summer of 2024.

Despite the interest from both clubs, Diomande reportedly favors a move to PSG. Although there has been no official bid from the French club, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has engaged in discussions with RB Leipzig. Diomande has already secured a contract with the Champions League winners until 2031, but Leipzig is unwilling to part with him unless an exceptional fee is met.

The rise of Yan Diomande has been rapid; just a year ago, he had only made a handful of starts with Leganes before moving to Leipzig for €20m. His performance in the Bundesliga has been electrifying, showcasing skills that make him a highly sought-after talent among the biggest clubs, while many others find themselves priced out of the race.
