Ghana has reappointed Carlos Queiroz as the head coach of the Black Stars, just two months after he stepped down following their World Cup campaign. Queiroz, 73, took over the team shortly before the tournament, succeeding Otto Addo, who was dismissed after significant defeats to Austria and Germany.

During his brief tenure, Queiroz guided Ghana through the group stage, which included a notable goalless draw against England, but the team was ultimately eliminated by Colombia in the round of 32. Despite the disappointment, a knockout stage finish was not seen as a complete failure amidst Ghana's recent struggles, including missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

After his departure in July, Queiroz's return to the role has surprised many. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the agreement, stating:

The GFA believes Queiroz’s extensive international experience and technical expertise position him strongly to lead the team into this next chapter.
