Gabby George, a defender for Manchester United, is nearing a transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of the Women's Super League season. The 29-year-old has one year left on her contract after United activated an option clause in January, indicating that Brighton is likely to pay a six-figure fee for the versatile player.

George is reportedly seeking more regular game time, making her a valuable addition to Brighton's ambitious squad. Her tenure at United spanned three years, during which she made over 50 appearances and contributed to the team's victory in the Women's FA Cup in 2024.

A graduate of Everton's academy, George played over 100 games for the club before her move to United. She has also earned three caps for England, bringing significant experience to Brighton, who are bolstering their roster this summer.

Under the guidance of head coach Dario Vidosic, Brighton has already signed key players, including Switzerland captain Lia Walti and midfielder Emilie Joramo from Hammarby.

After finishing seventh in the WSL last season, Brighton is set to kick off this year’s campaign at home against Arsenal on Sunday, 6 September at 12:00 BST.
