Birmingham City has made a significant addition to their squad by signing Jade Rastocle, a French defender, from Montpellier for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old centre-back, who joined Montpellier in 2024, has made 42 appearances and scored once during her time in the Ligue 1.

Having recently won the WSL 2 title, Birmingham City returns to the top flight after a five-year absence, and Rastocle expresses her excitement about joining the club. "I'm very happy to be here. I can see the ambitions of the club, the city, and I know it's a historic club," she stated. "For me, it's an unbelievable and very big opportunity to play here."

In addition to Rastocle, Birmingham also secured the signings of Millie Turner and Lisa Naalsund from Manchester United on Wednesday, further strengthening their roster.

Rastocle, who has represented France at the youth level and previously played for Reims, brings valuable experience to the team. Blues head coach Amy Merricks emphasized her potential, saying, "Jade is a young defender with excellent experience for her age.
