The Women's Super League has announced an investigation into Crystal Palace following their controversial use of substitution windows during a recent match against Everton. This inquiry comes after Palace allegedly utilized four substitution windows in their 1-0 victory on Sunday at the Borough Sports Ground.

According to a league statement, Crystal Palace "breached" the substitution rules, which only allow a maximum of three substitution opportunities per match. The substitutions were made in the following minutes:

• 62nd minute
• 83rd minute
• 90th minute
• 97th minute

The league confirmed that the investigation will involve both clubs and the referee body, Pro Ref. While WSL rules do not stipulate an automatic punishment for such breaches, any infractions could be escalated to an independent tribunal. This tribunal has the authority to impose various sanctions, which may include:

• Warnings or fines
• Points deduction
• Other sporting sanctions

Both Crystal Palace and Everton have been approached for comments regarding this situation.
