Charlton Athletic has officially signed Ashleigh Neville from Leicester City on a two-year contract. The 33-year-old full-back, who boasts over 100 appearances in the Women's Super League, brings invaluable experience to the newly-promoted club.

Neville reunites with manager Karen Hills, with whom she previously worked for three years at Tottenham, helping the team achieve promotion to the top flight. "It's an exciting journey for myself and the club so I'm really happy to be here," Neville stated. She expressed confidence in her ability to contribute, noting, "I know what Karen's about and she knows what I bring. I'm really looking forward to working with her again. I'm hoping I can bring experience from the WSL and to bring things on and off the pitch with the way I play."

Previously, Neville joined Leicester on a one-and-a-half-year deal in January. However, the Foxes faced relegation after a defeat to Charlton in a playoff match in May. It is reported that there was no release clause in her contract concerning relegation, leading to a likely transfer fee paid by Charlton.

In related news, Leicester City has signed Jessie Stapleton, a Republic of Ireland international, from West Ham on an undisclosed three-year deal.
