Brighton manager Dario Vidosic is leaving the Women's Super League club just a week before the season begins, stating he is doing so "to pursue a new opportunity." This decision comes as a significant setback for Brighton, who, under Vidosic’s leadership, reached the Women's FA Cup final for the first time in the club's history in May.

Vidosic, who joined from Melbourne City in 2024 on a three-year deal, had aimed to elevate Brighton into the WSL's top four. In his inaugural season, he achieved a fifth-placed finish—the club's best in the WSL—with memorable victories over Arsenal and Manchester City during the 2025-26 season.

Reflecting on his departure, Vidosic expressed, "I have loved my time at Albion and am proud of what we have achieved together. Leaving has been a difficult decision but I believe it is the right time for me and my family to begin a new chapter."

He extended his gratitude to the players, staff, and supporters, wishing everyone associated with Albion continued success.

As the new season approaches, Brighton is seen as a contender capable of challenging WSL heavyweights like Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United for a top-four finish. Reports suggest that Arturo Ruiz, recently departed from Real Sociedad, may be in line to replace Vidosic.

Additionally, sources indicate that Vidosic could be heading to the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States, with Angel City being the most likely destination. Brighton is set to kick off their WSL season at home against Arsenal on Sunday, 6 September at 12:00 BST.
