Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova dedicated her thrilling victory over Karolina Muchova to her late mother, Ivana, who passed away just before the tournament two years ago.

At just 21 years old, Noskova clinched her first Grand Slam title after a gripping three-set match, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 on Centre Court. Despite facing five championship points at the end of the second set and momentarily losing her composure, she regained her focus to secure the win, collapsing onto her back in disbelief.

In her emotional speech, Noskova expressed gratitude towards Muchova for their historic all-Czech final and thanked her family, friends, and coaches for their support. Her heartfelt moment came as she honored her mother, who fought a long battle with cancer, stating, "There’s one more person I’d like to thank which is my mum, I definitely would not be standing here without her, so thank you." She looked skyward and blew a kiss, overwhelmed with emotion.

Noskova became the youngest woman to win Wimbledon since Petra Kvitova in 2011, with Kvitova and Martina Navratilova watching from the Royal Box. Notably, she also saved a match point in her third-round match against Sorana Cirstea, becoming only the third player to win the title after saving a match point en route to the final, following legends Venus Williams and Serena Williams.

Reflecting on her journey, Noskova remarked, "It feels incredible... all these matches have been so physically and mentally tough." She congratulated Muchova, acknowledging their friendship and the significance of their match for Czech fans, stating, "I think we made history today."
