The 20-year-old, who remains unbeaten at the majors since his loss to Hewett in the 2025 Australian Open final, solidified his status as the number one seed and defending champion during the match held on Sunday on Court One.

Despite his singles defeat, Hewett celebrated a successful weekend, having secured his seventh men's wheelchair doubles title at Wimbledon alongside fellow Briton Gordon Reid the day before. However, Hewett struggled significantly during the singles match, facing issues with his serve that resulted in three double faults in his opening service game, six in the first set, and a total of ten throughout the match.
