Britain's Henry Patten and Finland's Harri Heliovaara clinched their second Wimbledon men's doubles title with a straight-sets victory over Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador and Mate Pavic of Croatia, finishing the match 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-3) on Saturday. The dynamic duo, who previously won the title in 2024, showcased their skills just hours after Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid secured their seventh wheelchair doubles title.

Patten and Heliovaara have been partners since early 2024 and also captured the 2025 Australian Open title.

Patten expressed gratitude towards Heliovaara, stating, "I owe Harri my career. When I started with Harri, he took a chance on me. It might be the best decision he's ever made!" He emphasized the support from their team, family, and fiancée, noting the surreal nature of their victory.

Heliovaara echoed the sentiment:

It's unbelievable. These are the moments you dream of. To do it twice, I need to thank Henry for being the best partner in the world.

The match was characterized by powerful serves and a lack of break opportunities, leading to tie-breaks in both sets. Patten and Heliovaara seized the momentum early, benefitting from a double fault by Pavic to lead 5-2 in the first set. A brief disruption occurred when a spectator fell unwell, but the pair maintained focus, ultimately claiming the first set.

The second set mirrored the first, with both teams holding serve until another tie-break was necessary. Patten's aggressive forehand returns helped secure an early mini break, propelling them to a commanding lead and sealing their victory.

In a post-match statement, Patten criticized the ATP Tour's recent proposals to cut doubles events by 2028, advocating for more opportunities in tennis for aspiring players. He thanked Wimbledon for providing a premier platform, affirming, "You are the best tournament for a reason."
