West Ham United’s summer overhaul could see Niclas Füllkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo become high-profile casualties, as manager Nuno Espírito Santo plans a significant reshaping of the squad following relegation to the Championship.

The Hammers are focused on building a team capable of an immediate promotion challenge, and both players have failed to meet the expectations that accompanied their arrivals. Their potential departures could not only lighten the wage bill but also create opportunities for new signings.

According to the Daily Mail, Nuno seeks solutions for both players before the transfer window closes:

• Füllkrug, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2024, has struggled to make an impact due to injuries and spent the latter part of last season on loan at AC Milan, who opted not to sign him permanently. His situation has worsened, as he has not even received a squad number for the 2026-27 campaign.
• Todibo, on the other hand, remains part of the first-team group, but West Ham is open to offers as they aim to cut costs. Reports from The Guardian indicated that he is one of several valuable players attracting interest during the club's rebuilding phase.

Both players represent a painful investment for West Ham. Todibo was expected to be a defensive cornerstone, while Füllkrug was brought in as a seasoned goalscorer. Unfortunately, they have not delivered the transformative impact the team required.

Selling Todibo could recoup some funds, given his strong resale value at 26, while Füllkrug's age (33) and disappointing tenure may force the club to accept a lower fee simply to relieve the wage burden. Such decisions, while harsh, are necessary in the wake of relegation.

West Ham has already seen significant income from player sales this summer and continues to prepare for a competitive season in the Championship.
