Wales forwards Bethan Lewis and Kelsey Jones will depart Gloucester-Hartpury this summer, as confirmed by the club. Lewis, who captained Wales during the Six Nations, has been part of the Cherry & Whites since joining Hartpury University in 2018, leading the side in the 2019-20 campaign. Meanwhile, Jones has had a notable seven-season tenure at Kingsholm, contributing to the team's success in winning the Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) title over the last three years.

Lewis is set to join Bristol Bears ahead of the 2026-27 season, while Jones is expected to continue her career in England's top flight, opting against joining Wales' Celtic Challenge sides. They will be joined on the leaver's list by versatile back Lizzie Goulden.

Jones expressed her gratitude, stating, "Gloucester-Hartpury has been such an important part of my rugby journey and a true home for the last seven years. I've experienced some of my highest highs and lowest lows here, and there's no other group I would have wanted by my side through it all."

She reflected on the incredible moments shared with the team, emphasizing her pride in wearing the Cherry & White shirt and contributing to the legacy for future generations.

Lewis echoed similar sentiments, calling her departure "incredibly difficult" and highlighting the significant role the club played in her life. "I've spent the best years of my rugby journey here, surrounded by awesome teammates, coaches, and staff who have pushed me to become a better player and person every day."

Bears head coach Scott Lawson praised Lewis, stating, "Bethan is a consistent performer at both club and international level, and her experience, leadership, and competitiveness will be hugely valuable to our squad."
