Britain's Matthew Brennan powered to his third win at the 2026 Vuelta a España on Wednesday, clinching victory in stage 11. The 21-year-old rider for Visma-Lease a Bike surged ahead in a dramatic sprint finish, easily outpacing Bryan Coquard of France and Jordi Meeus from Belgium over the 153.8km route from Cartagena to Lorca.

Despite Brennan's triumph, Enric Mas of Spain maintained his grip on the overall lead, retaining the red jersey with a 1 minute and 18 seconds advantage over Primoz Roglic of Slovenia. Oscar Onley from Britain trails closely in fourth, just over a minute behind.

After crossing the finish line, Brennan celebrated his remarkable achievement by holding up three fingers, marking a hat-trick of victories in what has been an impressive debut in Grand Tours.

Brennan remarked, "I'm with a team full of massive champions. The boys did a fantastic job within that last 10km to really keep us in the right place, in the right position, out of trouble. And we crossed the line first, so we're super happy."

Notably, Mads Pedersen of Lidl-Trek withdrew from the stage due to illness, which was anticipated to favor sprinters. Looking ahead, Thursday's 12th stage will challenge riders with a 166.6km trek through the mountains, featuring five categorised climbs, including the double ascent of Velefique and a finish at Calar Alto.
