Bastien Tronchon of Groupama-FDJ United triumphed in a dramatic bunch sprint to secure victory in stage 10 of the Vuelta a Espana. The French cyclist narrowly edged out Magnus Cort Nielsen and Thibau Nys, completing the race in a photo finish that left Wout van Aert just off the podium.

The stage covered 184.7km, starting from Alcaraz and finishing at Elche de la Sierra. With only a kilometre remaining, a breakaway by Yevgeni Fedorov of Astana and Xabier Azparren of Q36.5 seemed promising, but they were ultimately caught before the line. Tronchon expertly timed his sprint, crossing first to claim the stage win.

Reflecting on his victory, Tronchon stated, "I launched my sprint and I just finished it on the line, but I wasn't sure if there were some guys in front or not, so I did not put my hands in the air. That's crazy, I can't believe it. The last two days were really hard for me, and today I was good. I said to [team-mate] Guillaume Martin, go full gas until you die and I take the win, so it's crazy."

In the overall standings, Enric Mas from Movistar retains the red jersey, leading the general classification by over a minute ahead of Primoz Roglic of Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe. Oscar Onley of Netcompany Ineos is currently in fourth place, trailing Mas by two minutes and two seconds.

Looking ahead, Wednesday's 11th stage from Cartagena to Lorca spans 153.8km and is expected to favor sprinters, despite a category three climb up Morron de Totana.
