The Minnesota Vikings have announced the return of former All-Pro safety Harrison Smith on a one-year, $12.25 million deal, as reported by NFL Media. At 37 years old, Smith embarks on his 15th NFL season with the franchise that drafted him.

During his initial 14 seasons with the Vikings, Smith established himself as a team legend, earning:

• Six Pro Bowl selections from 2015 to 2021
• First-team All-Pro honors in 2017

Notably, he helped the Vikings reach the brink of the Super Bowl during his standout years. Smith’s impressive career statistics include:

• 39 career interceptions (most among active players)
• 1,180 career tackles (51 for loss)
• 21.5 sacks
• 13 forced fumbles
• 10 fumble recoveries
• 106 pass breakups
• Four interception returns for touchdowns

Despite not being named to a Pro Bowl since 2021, Smith demonstrated his continued effectiveness last season, playing in 15 games and recording:
