Bayern Munich director Max Eberl has provided an update on the ongoing contract negotiations with Harry Kane, describing the discussions as "positive" as the club aims to secure the England striker's future. Since joining from Tottenham in the summer of 2023, Kane has been exceptional, netting 154 goals in 156 games across all competitions, making him a key asset for Bayern.

As one of the frontrunners for this year’s Ballon d’Or, Kane's importance to the team cannot be overstated. Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a new deal, especially after Christian Falk reported that Kane and his representatives had reached an agreement with the club.

In an interview with Sky Germany, Eberl stated:

"The talks are going very well. I know we get asked about it every three days, and we answer with what we can. There’s no commitment yet, there’s no ‘yes’ yet, but we’re having very, very good talks, and we’re all positive."

Echoing Eberl’s sentiments, Christoph Freund, another Bayern chief, noted that while there are no new developments, the atmosphere remains optimistic. He emphasized:

"There are always scenarios as long as it’s not signed. There’s no new development. The talks are going well. We’re very positive, everyone knows we’re determined to extend his contract and Harry feels very comfortable here."

If a new contract is finalized, it could diminish the prospects of Kane returning to the Premier League, where he has scored a total of 213 goals, just 47 shy of the record held by Alan Shearer. Given Kane's age, it remains uncertain if he will ever make a return to England to chase that record, as he may eventually transition to a less demanding league before retiring.
