Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dazzled once again, scoring his second fifty in just three innings, as India clinched a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe. This victory not only showcased India's talent but also knocked England off the top spot in the T20I rankings.

In the final match held in Harare, Sooryavanshi delivered a stellar performance, scoring 81 runs off 49 balls, which included four sixes and eight fours. This innings followed his impressive maiden half-century of 50 runs off just 19 balls in the series opener at the same venue.

The left-handed prodigy, who previously made headlines during the 2026 IPL with 776 runs for Rajasthan Royals at a breathtaking strike-rate of 237.30, had a rocky start in senior cricket, scoring 14, 13, and 15 in a recent series against England.

In the decisive match, India set a target of 192-5, largely due to Sooryavanshi's contribution, while Zimbabwe managed to score only 157-7, with Ryan Burl being the top scorer for his team with 54 not out off 43 balls.

India's victory was crucial as it restored their position as the No 1 T20I team after briefly losing it to England, who had overtaken them following a heavy defeat earlier. The series against Zimbabwe concluded with India winning by 35 runs, despite some lapses in fielding.

Looking ahead, India will face Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series in August, before hosting the West Indies for three ODIs and five T20Is in September and October. Meanwhile, England aims to reclaim the top position when they host Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series starting on September 15.
