Cardiff fly-half Harri Wilde has officially joined Ospreys on a season-long loan following the return of Wales international Jarrod Evans. The 21-year-old will serve as back-up to Dan Edwards during his time in Swansea, with Cardiff retaining the option to recall him if necessary.

This move comes as Cardiff has secured Evans from Harlequins to compete for the fly-half position alongside Callum Sheedy and Ioan Lloyd. Ospreys found themselves in need of fly-half cover after Jack Walsh departed for Montauban, prompting them to negotiate this beneficial deal with their regional rivals.

Wilde expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, "This is a great opportunity for me to challenge myself in new surroundings and to learn from a different set of coaches and players."

Having made his United Rugby Championship (URC) debut in November 2025 against Zebre, Wilde had previously signed a long-term contract before Ospreys approached Cardiff for this arrangement. Cardiff head coach Corniel van Zyl highlighted the importance of this opportunity, saying, "We felt it was not only a good opportunity but also the right thing for Harri to go and develop his game in a high-performance team, while hopefully getting a bit more game time in the URC."

Additionally, Ospreys have added versatile Australian Lawson Creighton, who can play in multiple positions including fly-half, centre, or full-back. Head coach Mark Jones expressed his satisfaction with the new additions, noting, "This move is a fantastic example of Welsh clubs working together for the benefit of the national game."

Wilde will also participate in Super Rygbi Cymru for Cardiff's seconds team when he is not engaged in URC matches.
