Uefa, the Asian Football Confederation, and Concacaf are intensifying their efforts to push for Gianni Infantino's resignation. They have jointly penned an open letter demanding “leadership that serves football, not seeks to command it,” following the fallout from Infantino’s controversial Football Forward Enterprise scheme.

The letter, signed by Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin, AFC president Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and Concacaf president Victor Montagliani, accuses Infantino of having “trust broken through deception.” The governing bodies criticized his unilateral launch of the proposal, emphasizing that it should not have been initiated without broader consensus.

Despite the strong stance from these confederations, individual member associations appear divided. Notably, influential bodies like Caf and Conmebol have expressed support for Infantino. Some larger associations have reached out to him for clarification regarding the FFE scheme, but have yet to receive a response.

As the deadline for candidacy in the upcoming Fifa election approaches on November 18, discussions about potential replacements for Infantino are ongoing, with Montagliani emerging as a leading contender.
