His comments, made while discussing a red card incident involving Belgian defender Nathan Ngoy during the match against Iran, included the assertion that "Black players lack concentration beyond 60 to 80 minutes."

This statement came late on Sunday night during a program aired by Serbian broadcaster RTS, as the discussion revolved around the 0-0 draw between Belgium and Iran, largely thanks to the impressive performance of Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand. The host challenged Bogdanovic’s claim, but he persisted, stating that "the majority lack concentration."

Despite the social media uproar, RTS included him in their punditry line-up for the subsequent match between Argentina and Austria. After the incident, Bogdanovic expressed regret, stating, "I sincerely apologise for my statement regarding Black football players."

RTS also issued an apology, clarifying that Bogdanovic is not a permanent employee but an expert commentator for the tournament. They emphasized their commitment to addressing the offensive nature of his comments.
