Tadej Pogacar showcased his dominance in the Tour de France by winning Stage 10 on Bastille Day, further extending his overall lead to more than three minutes. This win marks his third stage victory of the race, as he powered through a challenging 166.6km mountain stage from Aurillac.

After a rest day, Pogacar faced off against closest rival Jonas Vingegaard, who had a chance to close the gap after narrowly beating him in a two-man sprint in 2024. However, Pogacar surged ahead solo with 15km remaining, finishing 32 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel, with 19-year-old Paul Seixas claiming third place.

Vingegaard crossed the finish line 44 seconds behind Pogacar, solidifying the defending champion's lead in the general classification standings by three hours and 36 minutes.

Pogacar reflected on his victory, saying, "We targeted this stage from a long time ago... my legs to the finish were completely destroyed, but yeah, I enjoyed the day."

The race featured a dramatic moment when Richard Carapaz broke away on the Puy Mary, the third-from-last climb, but Pogacar's decisive attack on the penultimate climb secured his stage win. Vingegaard, despite leading a chasing group, lost time to both Pogacar and Evenepoel, who recovered impressively after losing touch.

Vingegaard commented, "It was an OK day for us... my legs are getting better and better, and I'm looking forward to the longer climbs."

In a separate incident, Tom Pidcock crashed during the descent but recovered to finish ninth, moving into 10th overall.
