Viktor Hovland shares the lead at the halfway point of the PGA Tour's Tour Championship, with Scottie Scheffler in hot pursuit in the FedExCup finale. Hovland, the 2023 FedExCup champion, birdied the par-five last hole to finish with a second-round score of 66 at East Lake Golf Club, placing him at 10 under par alongside American Ryan Gerard.

Collin Morikawa and Chris Gotterup posted matching scores of 67, putting them just one shot behind the leaders in Atlanta. Cameron Young delivered the performance of the day with a remarkable 62, moving from the bottom of the leaderboard to within two shots of the lead.

The leaderboard is tightly packed, with 19 of the 29-man field separated by only five shots. Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood sits six strokes back at four under, while three-time FedExCup winner Rory McIlroy finds himself a further shot behind.

Young quickly climbed the leaderboard, scoring five birdies in six holes from the third and finishing with a 40-foot eagle at the par-five last. Gerard struggled initially but rallied with back-to-back birdies to join the leaders. Hovland surged into contention with key birdies, while Scheffler, who recorded six birdies but also three bogeys, remains close at eight under.

Hovland expressed satisfaction with his driving, stating, "I found something that seems to be going straight, so very happy with that." Scheffler noted the difference in his score was due to the bogeys he made, contrasting with his clean round the previous day.
