Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to a loan deal with Juventus for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, which includes a non-mandatory option to buy at £8.6 million. The 29-year-old Italy international is set to travel to Turin to finalize his move back to Serie A.

This transfer comes after Juventus' failed attempt to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa, who is currently sidelined due to an injured finger. Villa appears to be moving towards signing Zion Suzuki from Parma, leaving Juventus in need of a reliable goalkeeper.

Vicario's departure from Spurs follows a season where he lost his starting position under manager Roberto de Zerbi, who has opted for Antonin Kinsky as his first-choice goalkeeper. De Zerbi has also brought in Martin Dubravka on a free transfer from Burnley to enhance competition in the squad.

This move is part of a significant reshaping at Tottenham, who have engaged in a club record spending spree, acquiring six new players and targeting two more attacking signings while offloading several prominent first-team members, including Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Yves Bissouma.

Since joining from Empoli for £17.2 million in 2023, Vicario has made 117 appearances for Spurs.
