Tottenham Hotspur could encounter significant challenges in retaining Pedro Porro, as both Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly eye the Spanish international ahead of the 2027 summer transfer window.

According to a report from Football Insider, the 27-year-old right-back is open to leaving Spurs if either Spanish giant makes a concrete approach. This raises concerns about his long-term future in north London.

Key Highlights:

• Porro has emerged as one of Tottenham’s most impactful players, showcasing his attacking prowess and creativity.
• His performances at the 2026 World Cup for Spain have further enhanced his reputation, making him an attractive target for clubs capable of competing for major honors.
• Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring his situation, and the idea of returning to Spain appeals to the defender.
• Sources indicate that Porro is flattered by their interest and would be eager to explore either opportunity.

The situation may become increasingly precarious for Spurs if their struggles in the Premier League persist. Porro reportedly harbors concerns about the club's capacity to compete at the highest level, making a switch to one of Spain’s elite clubs more enticing.

However, Tottenham maintains a strong negotiating position, having secured Porro’s services with a new contract extending until 2031. Reports from TEAMtalk suggest that Spurs would demand around £75 million to consider parting with their key asset, setting a potential record fee for a right-back.

Tottenham is reluctant to lose one of their most vital players, especially considering his contributions on both ends of the pitch. Nonetheless, if Barcelona and Real Madrid formalize their interest next year, it could test Tottenham’s resolve. Ultimately, Porro’s future may hinge on Spurs’ performance under Roberto De Zerbi and their ability to convince him of their ambition to compete for major trophies.
