England winger Tommy Freeman has signed a new contract with Northampton Saints, ensuring his presence at Franklin's Gardens "for the foreseeable future." The 25-year-old debuted with the Saints in 2019 and has since made 118 appearances, scoring 79 tries across all competitions.

Freeman notably scored the opening try in the 2024 Premiership final against Bath and repeated this achievement in the 2026 triumph over Exeter Chiefs. In an interview with BBC Radio Northampton, he expressed his excitement about the coaching staff, stating, "It's a no-brainer in terms of the coaching staff we've got. I think I'm going to grow as a player here."

His commitment comes after fellow England teammates Fin Smith, Fraser Dingwall, and Alex Mitchell also signed new deals with Northampton, although the future of Henry Pollock remains uncertain. Freeman emphasized the importance of the team's camaraderie, saying, "You can't really beat the players in and around us. You want to be happy where you're playing."

Since his debut for England in the 2021 autumn internationals, Freeman has earned 30 caps and scored 11 tries. He also participated in the 2025 British and Irish Lions tour of Australia, making six appearances, including three Test matches.

Phil Dowson, Saints' director of rugby, remarked on the significance of Freeman's early commitment, calling it a "huge boost" for the club. Saints' head coach Sam Vesty hinted at Freeman potentially covering more positions, stating, "I think he'll cover more of the backline," highlighting his versatility as a key strength. The duration of Freeman's new deal remains undisclosed, but he had one season left on his previous contract.
