Australia flanker Tom Hooper has officially extended his contract with Exeter Chiefs until the summer of 2028, but he plans to return to Australia shortly after. Under this new agreement, the 25-year-old will join the Queensland Reds ahead of the 2029 Super Rugby Pacific season, ensuring his presence in his homeland until 2030.

Hooper's first season in England has been remarkable, contributing to the Chiefs' journey to the Premiership final after finishing third in the league. Additionally, he played a crucial role in the team's advancement to the semi-finals of the European Challenge Cup, where they faced defeat against Ulster.

Originally contracted until the end of the 2026-27 season, Hooper expressed his desire to extend his stay in March, stating, "I'm really happy to have my long-term future secured with a move back to Australia in the not-too-distant future."
