Tiger Woods has entered a plea agreement resulting in a five-year driving suspension and fines after a reckless driving charge stemming from a March 2023 car crash in Florida. The 15-time major champion was arrested following a rollover incident involving his Land Rover colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer.

Initially, Woods pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to testing. However, during a plea conference at the Martin County Courthouse on Wednesday, he changed his plea to guilty on a lesser charge of reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

• Judge Darren Steele accepted the plea agreement, amending the original DUI charge.
• Woods received a $1,000 fine for reckless driving and a $500 fine for the refusal to submit to testing.
• He was also ordered to pay court costs and received a careless driving citation, which carries a concurrent five-year driving ban.

The court emphasized that any violation of the suspension would result in immediate jail time. Woods, who attended the hearing with his girlfriend Vanessa Trump, remained mostly silent during the brief proceedings.

A police report from the crash indicated that Woods exhibited signs of impairment, including slow movements and glassy eyes, and that he admitted to looking down at his phone when the accident occurred. After the incident, Woods has not participated in any professional golf events, last competing in July 2024 at The Open.
