With just a minute and a half left in the match, which Minnesota won 5-1 at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, the little one made a dash onto the field, prompting the referee to halt play.

The child seemed to revel in the moment until a stadium official gently scooped them up and returned them to a woman believed to be their mother. The incident caught the attention of the broadcast team, with Apple TV analyst Kyndra de St Aubin exclaiming, “Oh! There’s a baby on the field,” in astonishment.

Commentators reminisced about previous pitch invasions, including a memorable incident in May 2024 when a raccoon, later dubbed Raquinho, interrupted a game between New York City FC and the Philadelphia Union. During that event, four men had to catch the raccoon, with one commentator humorously suggesting, “We need to find him a ball because he’s moving very well in the center of midfield.”

During Saturday’s match, one commentator remarked, “That’s way better than the raccoon,” highlighting the toddler’s location near the 18-yard box.

Minnesota manager Cameron Knowles commented on the scene, noting, “You could hear the noise and then you’re looking to see what it is. I thought, ‘Man, it’s a little too early to get a lifetime ban from a stadium.’”
