Sale Sharks initially took control with an early try from Alfie Longstaff and a breakaway score by Tom O'Flaherty, putting them ahead 12-0. However, Ben Loader responded for Gloucester, showcasing their expansive play style and keeping them in contention.

The game took a turn when Tomos Williams, a key scrum-half for Wales, suffered a shoulder injury early in the second half. Despite this setback, Charlie Atkinson scored a close-range try, and George Barton added the conversion, flipping the score in Gloucester's favor.

George Ford attempted to regain the lead for Sale with a 45-metre drop-goal, bringing the score to 15-14. Yet, Atkinson's second try with just four minutes remaining sealed the victory for Gloucester.

This win marks Gloucester's fourth league victory of the season, significantly enhancing their chances of qualifying for next season's European Champions Cup. They now enjoy a nine-point cushion over ninth-placed Harlequins, who are set to face Newcastle Red Bulls on Sunday.
