Tadej Pogacar has made history by matching cycling legends with his fifth yellow jersey at the 2026 Tour de France. This remarkable achievement began on stage six when Pogacar seized the yellow jersey on July 6, a result anticipated for weeks after his impressive performance on the Tourmalet.

Throughout the race, Pogacar extended his lead with victories on stages 10, 14, and again at the summit of Alpe d’Huez. Despite not winning the stage on July 8, where the Tour returned via the challenging Col de Sarenne, his historical milestone was already secured.

Upon completing the race in Paris on July 9, Pogacar will join an elite group of riders including Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, and Miguel Indurain, becoming the youngest cyclist to achieve five yellow jerseys at just 27 years old.
