According to ESPN, the Cowboys are sending third and sixth-round picks in 2027 to the Steelers, who are also including a 2027 fourth-round pick alongside Jones to complete the trade.

Broderick Jones, the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, played a crucial role in Georgia's two national championships. He featured in 17 games as a rookie, starting 11, and took on a full-time role during his second season. However, in 2025, Jones started all 11 games before being placed on injured reserve due to a neck injury sustained in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. He allowed six sacks and 23 pressures that season, building on a 2024 performance where he was responsible for 11 sacks in 17 games.

The Steelers appeared ready to part ways with Jones after declining his fifth-year option in April, signaling his future as an unrestricted free agent post-2026. They have since selected tackle Max Iheanachor with the 21st overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, positioning him to replace Jones at right tackle, alongside 2024 first-round left tackle Troy Fautanu.

For the Cowboys, this trade adds a first-round talent to their line, specifically behind right tackle Terence Steele, who has allowed 16 sacks and 88 pressures over the last two seasons and is under contract through 2028.
