The adjustment comes as Damian Willemse faces sidelining due to injury, prompting Cheslin Kolbe to shift from winger to fullback, while Kurt-Lee Arendse steps into the squad to occupy Kolbe's former position on the edge.

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu will retain his starting role at fly-half, with Manie Libbok positioned on the bench. Handre Pollard remains unavailable due to a calf issue.

Captain Siya Kolisi, returning from a hamstring injury, will lead the Springboks alongside Pieter-Steph du Toit and Jasper Wiese in the back row. Notably, Eben Etzebeth will earn his 145th appearance for the Springboks, extending his record as the most capped player in South Africa's history.

The front row features hooker Malcolm Marx along with props Ox Nche and Wilco Louw. Erasmus emphasized the importance of continuity in player combinations, stating, "It was always our plan to have a little more continuity in player combinations for this series."
