Chelsea is reportedly gearing up to submit an improved bid of approximately £70m for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Multiple sources linked to the agents' industry have confirmed to CaughtOffside that Scott remains a key target for Chelsea this summer.

Previously, the Blues had a £64m offer rejected by Bournemouth, who continue to maintain that they do not wish to part ways with the 22-year-old talent. Despite this setback, Chelsea aims to rekindle negotiations with their new offer, although there remains a significant gap to close, as Bournemouth values Scott at £80m.

Chelsea's plans to acquire Jordan Henderson will not deter their pursuit of Scott, as they are keen on adding another young player to their squad. Currently, Chelsea appears to be the frontrunner for Scott's signature, provided Bournemouth can be convinced to sell.

However, competition for Scott's services is fierce, with interest also coming from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham, while Arsenal had previously inquired about him earlier this summer. A source noted, "Chelsea have done the most work on Alex Scott so far."

Furthermore, the injury to Eli Junior Kroupi may complicate matters for Bournemouth, as some speculate it increases the pressure to sell Scott. Conversely, other reports suggest that the club is in a robust financial position after qualifying for Europe, leaving them with little incentive to sell, especially after recent player departures.
