The son of Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bieniemy has been arrested following the shooting of his mother, Mia Bieniemy. Authorities from Virginia reported that the incident occurred late Sunday in Ashburn, where deputies found Mia Bieniemy, aged 57, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was promptly taken to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Elijah Zion Bieniemy, the 27-year-old son, faces serious charges including:

• Malicious wounding
• Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
• Discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling

He is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Earlier on Sunday, Eric Bieniemy was present at the Chiefs’ practice in St. Joseph, Missouri, but he was absent for the team's workout on Monday.
