Senegal’s appeal against the controversial decision to strip them of the Africa Cup of Nations title is scheduled for 8 October at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This appeal follows a dramatic final against Morocco on 18 January, where Senegal walked off the pitch in protest after a contentious penalty decision late in the match.

Despite Senegal winning the match 1-0 after extra time, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory on 17 March, citing Senegal's protest as grounds for forfeiture. The appeal to CAS emerged as the Senegalese federation sought to overturn this ruling.

CAS confirmed the hearing date on Friday, stating that the Senegalese federation, Caf, and the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) opted against an expedited procedure, thus adhering to the standard timeline for the appeal.
