The Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks are set to clash in a pivotal Sunday Night Football matchup this week. With the Chiefs aiming to maintain their undefeated record at 5-0 and the Seahawks looking to improve their standing after a recent two-game losing streak, this game is crucial for both teams.

The Chiefs come off a strong 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers and are re-establishing themselves as serious contenders after missing the playoffs last season. Conversely, the Seahawks are trying to bounce back from a 17-14 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, having had extra time to recover and prepare since their last game.

Key injuries are affecting both teams:

• Kansas City Chiefs

  • WR Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee) - out
  • RT Jaylon Moore (concussion) - out
  • CB L'Jarius Sneed (knee) - questionable
  • TE Travis Kelce (ankle) - limited but available

• Seattle Seahawks

  • S Nick Emmanwori (hip) - questionable
  • QB Drew Lock (right elbow) - questionable
  • LB Demarcus Lawrence (knee) - questionable
  • LB Uchenna Nwosu (hip) - questionable
  • LB Connor O'Toole (hamstring) - questionable

In a notable twist, former Seahawks MVP Kenneth Walker III returns to Lumen Field as a Chief. Walker has outperformed Seattle's entire rushing offense this season, leading the NFL in forced missed tackles and rushing yards against stacked boxes.

Both teams feature strong defenses, with the Seahawks allowing the fewest total yards per game (237.3) and the Chiefs being formidable against the run.

In terms of predictions, the forecast favors the Chiefs, with a projected score of 31-24. While there are expectations for Walker to make a significant impact, turnovers from Seahawks QB Sam Darnold remain a concern.
