The owner of the San Francisco 49ers, Jed York, has pleaded no contest to two criminal charges following his arrest at an Ohio trailer park over the weekend.

According to KRON4 News in San Francisco, York was initially arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, a charge that was later amended to disorderly conduct. He also faced a charge for possessing criminal tools, although the specifics of these tools were not disclosed in the arrest report.

A no contest plea does not indicate guilt but involves accepting the penalties for the alleged crimes. York received a sentence of one day in jail for each count, to be served concurrently, and was released the following Monday. Additionally, he was fined a total of $1,150 and ordered to complete an online course.

Court documents revealed that York responded to an advertisement on a website, arranging to engage in sexual activity with a female for $140. His arrest occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio. The East Palestine Police Department and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force were involved in the operation.

At 46 years old, York was born and raised in Youngstown, located just a 30-minute drive from East Palestine, and still owns a home in the area. He is the nephew of former 49ers majority owner Edward J DeBartolo Jr. York assumed day-to-day control of the 49ers in 2008 as CEO and became the team’s principal owner in 2024 after acquiring his mother's shares. Under his leadership, the 49ers have reached three Super Bowls, unfortunately losing each time.
