In an impressive display at the One-Day Cup match in Taunton, Rocky Flintoff, the 18-year-old son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, achieved his first senior professional century for Lancashire against Somerset.

Lancashire posted a formidable total of 443-6 in 50 overs, with Keaton Jennings also shining by scoring 156 off 127 balls. Flintoff dominated the bowling attack, smashing 123 runs from 76 balls, which included 10 fours and 7 sixes. Coming in at 138-3, he formed a destructive partnership of 214 runs with Jennings, reaching his century in just 65 deliveries.

This milestone is a significant moment in Flintoff's burgeoning career. He became Lancashire's youngest player at 16 years and 113 days in the One-Day Cup in 2024. Additionally, he set records as England Under-19s' youngest centurion against Sri Lanka and as England Lions' youngest century-maker against Cricket Australia in January 2025, surpassing his father's achievements.

Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, including missing the Under-19 World Cup and withdrawing from The Hundred in 2025, Flintoff signed a new two-year contract extension with Lancashire in March. Although he has only played four first-class matches, he has found form in the One-Day Cup, showcasing his talent with scores of *33, *41, 34, and *61 in previous matches.

Against Somerset, Flintoff's explosive batting style, particularly his sixes over mid-wicket, drew comparisons to his father's legendary play.
