Roberto De Zerbi emphasizes the importance of rebuilding the spirit and mentality of Tottenham Hotspur as the club seeks revival after two challenging seasons near the bottom of the Premier League table. Taking over in March, De Zerbi managed to secure safety on the last day of the previous season and believes that simply a busy summer recruitment window won't guarantee long-term success.

The club has already made significant signings, including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Cole Ramsey, and Martin Dubravka. However, De Zerbi has indicated that more reinforcements are on the way and stressed the necessity of building camaraderie among players to foster success.

"In the transfer market, we're not finished yet. We're looking forward to starting another season with different ambitions and results," De Zerbi stated in an interview on the Men in Blazers YouTube channel.

He aims to create a team that embodies not just skill but also soul, passion, and commitment.

"I would like when we go to play in the Premier League... the people recognize one's soul, passion, value of the player," he added.

De Zerbi also noted that the qualities of the players alone are insufficient to compete with top teams unless they bring their inner drive to the pitch.

In addition to these developments, Micky van de Ven has signed a new long-term contract with the club, while Cristian Romero's future remains uncertain amid rumors linking him to a move to north London rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham will kick off their new Premier League campaign against Brentford on 22 August.
