Robert Lewandowski made an impressive home debut for Chicago Fire, scoring two goals in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC on Saturday. This win marked Chicago’s first success in Major League Soccer since the international break, bringing their record to 9-6-2 with 29 points.

The match began with Pep Biel putting Charlotte ahead in the 18th minute. After a clever one-two with Idan Toklomati, Biel skillfully maneuvered past a defender and fired a shot into the top right corner, marking his ninth goal of the season.

Lewandowski equalized just two minutes later, scoring his first goal for the Fire. A well-placed through-ball from Jonathan Bamba to Philip Zinckernagel set up Lewandowski, who faked a shot before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner past Kristijan Kahlina.

The Fire nearly took the lead when Zinckernagel found Robin Lod in the box, but Lod's shot went off target. In the 56th minute, Lewandowski showcased his playmaking ability with a precise through-ball to Zinckernagel, who was thwarted by Kahlina in a one-on-one situation.

Chicago secured the lead in the 68th minute when Andrew Gutman assisted Lod, who then played Lewandowski through. The former star of Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona finished clinically from close range for his second goal of the match.
