The 52-year-old singer, who performed alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini at the closing ceremony on Sunday, drew attention during an appearance on German TV channel Magenta Sport.

While speaking to pundits, the mysterious object fell, prompting Williams to pick it up and rub it on his forehead, where it amusingly stuck. The incident quickly went viral, leading Williams to share a video on social media to clarify the situation.

In a lighthearted video filmed from his bed, he stated:
“I’d just like to apologise for the object that fell on to the microphone yesterday. I was deeply unprofessional, and people worried about me.”
He added, “But it’s OK. Because I had several more,” before sticking his tongue out to reveal two circular mints, breaking into laughter as the video ended.
He captioned the post: “Just woke up and feeling…. Mint x.”

The World Cup final between Argentina and Spain also featured an extravagant 11-minute half-time show, showcasing stars like Madonna, Shakira, BTS, and Justin Bieber.
