Paris Saint-Germain has initiated contract negotiations with Desire Doue, making a first verbal offer as they aim to secure the rising star's future. With the recent injury of teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has ruptured his ACL, Doue's role in the team has become even more critical.

The discussions around Doue's contract come amidst a week filled with drama for PSG, particularly following their match against Barcelona in the Champions League. The unfortunate news of Kvaratskhelia's injury overshadowed another remarkable goal from Doue, further emphasizing his growing importance to the squad.

Key points regarding the contract talks include:

• The verbal offer marks the beginning of negotiations over a new contract.
• While there is optimism for a resolution, such deals typically involve extensive discussions and can take time.
• PSG's objective is to support Doue’s development and build the team around him for the long term.

The article concludes that PSG would be unwise to overlook this opportunity to invest in a player who is clearly on the rise.
